Dewan Barindranath was a renowned Indian journalist, political analyst, and South Asian geopolitics expert, who worked deeply on the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War and the subsequent sequence of events. Through his sharp writing, he played an important role in highlighting the internal crisis of the then Pakistan and the justification for Bangladesh's independence to the international community. His authored book 'Tiger Niazi: Chief of the Pakistan Army in East Bengal' is considered an extremely important document for understanding the military context of the Liberation War and the catastrophe of the Pakistani forces. As a journalist, he was extremely fearless and continued his pen in favor of peace and stability in South Asia until his death.
